Products and Services
Why would my residents want Network alarm systems in their apartment homes?
A recent industry study found that safety and security are prospective residents' primary concerns. The primary benefit of monitored alarm amenities, according to most users, is knowing that their home is being monitored 24 hours a day. The peace of mind alone is priceless.
How have you addressed the increase in VoIP and cell-only use among residents?
You and your residents are no longer required to have a traditional land-based phone line for reliable alarm monitoring. Network's Multifamily 360 wireless alarm system transmits alarm signals via a wireless network, making it compatible with virtually all modern telecommunication platforms. The 360's wireless design also makes it quick and easy to install.
How much does it cost to install Network's monitored alarm program in my communities?
Network can custom design a variety of payment options that best meet your business' needs. We offer lease, buy-down, or outright purchase plans to meet your FFO requirements. Contact us now for an alarm system appointment.
How long will installation take?
Because of our flexible pool of nationwide personnel and technicians, Network can work with you to ensure an alarm system installation that meets all your timing requirements and quality expectations.
Will you install alarms throughout my entire property, including my leasing office, free of charge?
Yes. As a part of its standard bulk monitoring agreement, Network offers a no-money-down and free alarm system installation plan.
Are special permits or registrations required for a security system?
Some municipalities require a permit or registration to be on file with the monitoring center before they will respond to an alarm. Network Multifamily understands all permitting and registration requirements and can assist in obtaining the needed paperwork for your residents.
Will the Network alarm system be easy for my residents to use?
Absolutely! Our monitored alarm systems are designed for easy and frequent use and are used every day by over 300,000 apartment residents nationwide. Network can also provide one-on-one training, instruction brochures, and marketing and training videos to help your residents and your staff understand the alarm amenity.
Who will be monitoring the alarm systems on my property?
Network Multifamily owns and operates its own multifamily-specialized, UL Listed, 24-hour central monitoring station located just outside Dallas, Texas. Network is the
only alarm company in the nation whose staff and center are dedicated specifically to monitor multifamily communities and their residents. That means only Network monitoring professionals take calls from your residents and your employees. We will monitor all properly registered alarm systems on your property for the life of your Alarm Services Agreement.
Is it necessary to install alarm systems in all the units on my property?
Network Multifamily recommends that you install alarm systems in each unit on your property. For your protection, this ensures that every resident has the opportunity to have and use their in-unit alarm system as they choose.
What do residents pay per month for monitoring?
Network monitors alarms for a fraction of what typical monitoring-only companies charge for individual alarm monitoring. Typically, the cost is included within your residents' rents. Traditional monitoring costs, on average, are $20 to $35 a month. When you provide this service to your residents as part of their standard amenity package, they see the monitored alarm as a true amenity, rather than an additional bill to pay, and this adds to the value of living on your property.
How long of a contractual commitment do residents have to sign to be monitored?
Unlike other alarm companies, Network only requires residents to register for monitoring. They can cancel their service at any time. They make no monetary commitment to Network; therefore, they credit the property ownership and management for providing this valuable amenity.
How will my property staff and outside vendors access my residents' homes without causing false alarms? Will we have to provide resident panel codes to outside vendors?
Network Multifamily is the only alarm provider with a
unique multifamily-specific property management key system* that allows your staff and vendors to access units without releasing private resident panel codes. Keys are programmed by your property manager to allow service personnel into specific units for specified periods, thus freeing up valuable employee time and offering your residents another level of peace of mind. It also provides your property management a way to track and monitor maintenance and vendor activity on your property.
*This service is available with select systems and agreements.
Do you provide any account management or training for my property staff and residents?
Yes.
Network has the most comprehensive market support and training program in the industry.* An assigned personal account manager will make a minimum of three visits to your property per year, as well as accommodate additional requests by the management or ownership. This is crucial to ease learning curves due to staff turnover. Your assigned account manager will provide staff and resident training and act as a go-between, handling all service and billing questions regarding the alarm amenity for the duration of the agreement.
*Market support services are based on the terms and conditions of the agreement.
What other materials do you provide my properties and at what cost?
Network provides a variety of
marketing materials to each of your properties absolutely free. These materials include a variety of resident brochures, marketing and instructional videos, window and/or door stickers, yard signs, banners, and demonstration alarm panels for on-site use. These items are provided at no charge for the life of the agreement.
What kind of maintenance and warranty do you provide for the alarm systems?
Network will maintain your alarms at no charge for normal wear and tear. Network bills only for equipment* that is damaged by a third party or by an "Act of God."
* Warranty and Maintenance services are provided pursuant to the terms of our monitoring agreement.
How long has Network been installing, monitoring, and maintaining alarms in multifamily housing?
Network began in 1968 as a residential alarm company and
has been providing alarm amenities exclusively to the multifamily industry since 1982. We currently serve well over 315,000 residents nationwide, making us the nation's oldest and largest provider of monitored alarm amenities to the multifamily industry. The readers of
Apartment Finance Today magazine have also rated us No.1 multiple times.
I'm considering pre-wiring for alarm systems in my building and allowing my residents to choose their own alarm company.
Network highly recommends against this measure. Firstly, the intentional value of the amenity is modified when residents must contract for alarms themselves. Secondly, having one company provide the wiring and another provide the monitoring allows for a larger possibility of error on the fault of one or both parties. It will open your property to a litany of service providers that will all require access to your units for installation and service issues. Your property staff will bear the brunt of this decision. They will be taking calls from dissatisfied residents and keeping up with a variety of alarm-related service calls. At Network, we provide all installation, service, maintenance, marketing, and monitoring to ensure your alarm amenity runs smoothly and consistently on your entire property throughout the duration of the agreement.
